Expedited Options
Team service is arranged through the IZ Freight carrier network, powered by Armstrong Transport Group.
Team Flatbed
Two drivers trade shifts so an open deck load keeps rolling on long runs out of Los Angeles. Best for steel, machinery and building materials with a firm deadline far away.
Team Step Deck
Taller machinery and equipment that need the lower deck height, with two drivers for long distance deadlines.
Hotshot
A heavy duty pickup with a gooseneck flatbed for smaller, urgent open deck loads. Dispatches quickly and goes straight to the delivery.
Sprinter Van
Urgent, lighter enclosed freight, same day across Southern California or overnight to nearby states, with team drivers for cross country runs.
Box Truck
Pallets and bulky enclosed freight that need to move fast and direct, with liftgate options for sites with no dock.
Not Sure Which Fits?
Send the size, weight and deadline. We will recommend the fastest option that fits the freight and the budget.
Expedited Freight on the Move
Open deck and enclosed equipment for urgent loads. Truck photos show the equipment type, not a specific expedited shipment.
Tracked From Pickup to Delivery
Expedited loads get closer attention. One contact confirms pickup, shares location updates while the truck is moving, and tells you right away if an ETA changes. A tracking link is shared when the carrier supports it.

Team vs Solo: Which Do You Need?
| Solo driver | Team drivers | |
|---|---|---|
| How it works | One driver, who must stop for required breaks and off duty time | Two drivers share one truck and take turns, so the truck keeps moving while each driver rests |
| Driving limit | Up to 11 hours of driving after 10 hours off duty, within a 14 hour window | Each driver follows the same limits, but the truck can keep rolling while one driver is off duty |
| Best for | Shorter and regional runs, or when the deadline allows normal rest stops | Long runs with tight deadlines, like Los Angeles to the Midwest or East Coast |
| Cost | Lower | Higher, since two drivers are paid |
| Equipment | Flatbed, step deck, hotshot, Sprinter van or box truck | Most often team flatbed, team step deck or team Sprinter van |
Driving limits are from the FMCSA hours of service rules for property carrying drivers. See how a team covers a long run in team flatbed Los Angeles to Chicago.
Cutoff and Pickup Windows
There is no fixed cutoff. Pickup timing depends on where the freight is, the equipment it needs and what is available nearby, so we confirm it on every quote.
Same day pickup
Often possible across Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire when the request comes in early and equipment is nearby. We confirm the pickup window when we quote.
Late day and after hours
Requests that come in late in the day may pick up that evening or first thing the next morning. Night pickups can be arranged.
Weekends and holidays
Weekend and holiday pickups and deliveries can be arranged in advance. Share the shipper and receiver hours so the plan works on both ends.
Appointments and receiving
Confirm receiving hours, dock or no dock, and who signs at delivery. An urgent load that arrives after the receiver closes still waits.

Hours of Service and Size Basics
Expedited does not mean skipping the rules. Property carrying drivers of commercial motor vehicles may drive up to 11 hours after 10 consecutive hours off duty, within a 14 hour window, under FMCSA hours of service rules. That is why team drivers are used for long, tight deadlines. Open deck loads still follow legal width and height limits, and oversize loads need permits, which can add time.
Expedited Freight FAQ
What is expedited freight?
Freight that needs to move faster than standard service, usually on a dedicated truck that goes direct from pickup to delivery with no terminal transfers.
What trucks are used for expedited freight?
Team flatbed, team step deck, hotshot, Sprinter van and box truck, depending on the size, weight and deadline.
What is team driving?
Two drivers share one truck and take turns driving, so the truck can keep moving while each driver stays within hours of service limits.
When do I need a team instead of a solo driver?
When the distance is long and the deadline does not leave time for a single driver to stop for required rest. For shorter runs, a solo driver is usually enough and costs less.
How fast can you pick up in Los Angeles?
Same day pickup is often possible when the request comes in early and equipment is nearby. We confirm the pickup window on every quote.
Can you pick up at night or on weekends?
After hours, night and weekend pickups and deliveries can be arranged. Tell us the timing when you request a quote.
Is expedited more expensive?
Usually, since the truck is dedicated to your load and teams use two drivers. We will tell you when a standard option can still meet the deadline.
Can I track an expedited load?
Yes. You get pickup confirmation, updates in transit and delivery confirmation, with a tracking link when the carrier supports it.
Can oversize freight be expedited?
Yes, but permits, escorts and travel time restrictions can add time, so plan oversize loads as early as possible.
What do you need for an expedited quote?
Pickup and delivery locations, dimensions, weight, how it loads and unloads, and the deadline.
